We’re baaaaaaaack! Yes Ma'am Projects is pleased to present AtlanticPacific, a two-person exhibition by artists Jasmine Abena Colgan and Thomas Yi. The works in this exhibition tie together the accumulation of cultural history spanning both recent and distant time through photography, sculpture and installation. Colgan and Yi insist on the recognition of their humanity and reveal the value of ancestry through depictions of family recipes and symbols of the African slave trade. These powerful subjects allow them to reclaim a past while simultaneously digesting a difficult and meaningful present.

Jasmine Abena Colgan is a contemporary artist based in Denver, Colorado. Her work is about pigmentation, which was inspired from her Ghanaian and Irish heritage. She creates structures with raw material and constructs the scenery she interacts with in her self-composed photographs. Colgan is currently and MFA candidate in the IMAP program at the University of Colorado, Boulder. https://www.photographsbyjazz.com/

Thomas Yi is an artist based in Boulder, Colorado. He received his BFA from the University of Colorado, Boulder. His work is photographic based and is about recontextualizing food and still life photography to create narratives based on family history and personal experience. https://www.thomasjyi.com/
